Creating a new dependent skin

When you create a new skin, you can add a parent skin. The new skin becomes dependent on the parent and inherits the parent's formats and mixins. If a the parent skin is changed, those changes will be inherited by the dependent skin.

  1. In the +Create menu in Designer Studio select New > User Interface > Skin.
  2. Enter a name for the skin the Label field.
  3. Click the View additional configuration options link.
  4. In the Additional creation options area, select the Inherit component formats and mixins from an existing skin check box.
  5. In the Existing skin to inherit component formats & mixins from text area, enter the name of the skin that you want to inherit from.
  6. Finish the skin creation as you would any normal skin. The newly created skin now inherits formats from the specified parent skin.
