You can validate the answers to questions in a survey. By displaying an error when an answer is invalid, you can ensure that the information that users provide is accurate and in an expected format.
Click Designer Studio > Case Management > Survey to open the Survey Management landing page.
Click the name of a survey.
Associate an edit validate rule with one or more questions in the survey.
To validate all answers in the survey:
Click Actions > Open to open the underlying survey rule.
On the Instructions tab of the Survey form, press the Down Arrow key in the Validation field, and select the name of an edit validate rule that evaluates the values of properties that are mapped to questions in the survey.
Click Save.
To validate answers to questions on a specific question page:
Click Edit next to the name of a question page.
In the Edit question page dialog box, expand the Advanced question page settings section.
In the Validation field, press the Down Arrow key and select the name of an edit validate rule that evaluates the values of properties that are mapped to questions on the same question page.
For example, you can verify that the user provides a phone number for each name on the emergency contact question page.
Click Save to close the Edit question page dialog box.
To validate the answer to a specific question:
Click Actions > Open to open the underlying survey rule.
On the Question pages tab, click the Open icon next to the name of the question page that contains the question.
On the Questions tab of the Question Page form, click the Open icon next to the name of the question.
Click the Answers tab.
In the Validation field, press the Down Arrow key, and then select the name of an edit validate rule that evaluates the property values for the question.
Click Save.
You must purchase a separate license before using survey functionality in your application.
