Back Forward Completing and using the Test Message tab

Use the Test Message tab to test the content of the SMS treatment when it is delivered.

After completing the sections of this tab, use the Send Test Message button to send the test SMS message(s). In SMS Treatments, when you click on this button, the system also saves the treatment before sending the message(s). The system displays the status of the test in a modal dialog. In case of failures, the system also displays the reason for the failure so you can make appropriate corrections and re-run the test.

Field

Description

To Select the intended recipients of the test SMS message. Choose between:
  • Test Recipients - Enter list of recipients. Each entry can either be the Operator ID of an existing user in the system or a valid mobile phone number. If you enter an Operator ID, the system populates the Customer page with operator information (such as the name and phone number) and sends the message to the operator’s phone number.
  • Seed List - Select a predefined Seed List as the intended recipients of the test SMS message. The system populates the Customer page with the data for each seed. If the SMS treatment references data on the Customer page, this will be visible in the delivered SMS (as long as it exists on the corresponding seed entry). In this case, the system sends the SMS message to the number specified in the Mobile Phone column in the Seed List (.pyMobilePhone property).
Test SMS Account Options Choose between:
  • Use Default SMS Account - Select this option to use the Default Outbound SMS account.
  • Specify SMS Account - Select this option to specify the Outbound SMS account to use for delivering the test SMS message. Specify the desired account name in the Test Account field.
