Back Forward Perform

Certain verbs are used in specific ways in Process Commander documentation to distinguish responsibilities and work of users from the automatic processing done by the system.

The verb perform is used only to describe what users do, usually as they work on assignments. When users perform an assignment, they update information in the work object and generally eliminate (complete) the assignment. As a result, the work object may become resolved, or may remain open and proceed farther through a flow execution, so that more processing is required to resolve it.

Selected standard harness rules support users as they perform assignments, by including a Take Action section. They are known as perform forms; the three standard harness rules named Work-.Perform, Work-.Perform_Buttons, and Work-.PerformAction provide this capability.

The Operator ID of the operator who creates or updates a work object, rule, or data object is sometimes known as the performer. For flow steps that the system completes automatically, the work object history identifies the performer as System.
