Create a RuleSet to identify, store, and manage the set of rules that define an application. Generally, you create one RuleSet per application.
How you
use RuleSets in your application has important design and
deployment consequences. For large and complex applications,
more than one RuleSet may be appropriate.
If you create more than one RuleSet for an application, think
carefully about the purpose, use, and dependencies of each
one.
Use the Rules by Type Explorer to list all RuleSet rules in your system
Create at least one RuleSet version for each RuleSet. See About RuleSet Version rules.
Use the Application > New > RuleSet menu option, or the New button () — not the Save As button (
) — to create a RuleSet
Name rule.
After you create a RuleSet and at least one version, reference them in an application rule and an access group that is available to yourself or to other users, to allow developers to create and modify rules in the new RuleSet.
RuleSet Name rules are part of the SysAdmin category. A RuleSet Name rule is an instance of the Rule-RuleSet-Name class.
