Case Manager portal — Using and configuring the My Events tab

This tab allows the display of multiple events such as assignment goals and deadlines in a typical calendar month format. At runtime, the user can view the items and access a SmartInfo display for each. (The events may be work items, assignments, or other objects that have appropriate DateTime properties; they are not restricted to scheduled tasks.)

The standard section @baseclass.pxCalendar supports the My Events capabilities of the Case Manager portal. You can include this section in the portals of your application by following the configuration instructions presented here.

You can configure multiple calendars, each displaying different types of events. At runtime, the user can view all information on a single calendar or select a specific calendar to view in a daily, weekly, or monthly format.

Using the My Events calendar

Calendar Views

The My Events tab opens in the default view mode specified during configuration of the calendar parameters. For weekly and monthly displays, the current day is highlighted. Change the view mode by clicking the Daily, Weekly, or Monthly buttons on the top right corner of the calendar. The calendar heading changes accordingly.

Use the left and right arrows at the top left of the calendar to move forward or back by day, week, or month, according to the view mode you have selected. For example, if you are in Weekly view mode, click the right arrow to move the calendar to display the next week. The Today button returns you to the current day, week, or month.

Calendar Options

Click the Options button to view a list of configured calendars. Check the box beside the calendars you wish to display, then click Apply. During configuration of the calendar parameters, you select colors for the events associated with a calendar. Selecting a unique color for each calendar makes it easier to identify events that belong to a specific calendar when you display all events on a single calendar.

SmartInfo on Events

You can configure SmartInfo so that a pop-up window displays information when you hover over an event.

Up to four events will fit on a day in the monthly view. If a day has more than four events, three dots will display at the bottom of the day. Click the dots to see the additional events.

Parameters

1. Add a section to the harness or section you are constructing. See Harness, section and flow action forms — Adding a section.

2. Enter pxCalendar in the Use Section field.

3. Click to access the Parameters form for this section. Complete the following parameters.

Field	Description
GadgetID	Enter a unique name for the calendar gadget.
Default View Mode	Select `Daily`, `Weekly`, or `Monthly` as the default view mode. The view mode can be changed at run-time when the calendar is open.
Style Sheet	Optional. Enter the name of a custom style sheet to apply tor this calendar.
	Click to add a tab for a new calendar definition. The initial name is Calendar. Change the name in the Calendar Name field below. When you select the calendar tab, all the information in the fields below define that calendar. You may use multiple calendars to track different types of events, assigning colors and data mapping for calendar entries as desired. Click to delete the calendar tab.
Calendar Name	Enter the name of the calendar. This name will appear in the drop-down list of Options in the calendar at runtime.
Applies To	Use the SmartPrompt to select the class the calendar applies to.
Custom Header Section	Optional. Use the SmartPrompt to select a section that displays a header for events shown in Daily and Weekly views.
Default	Click the box beside the field to open a color chooser window to select a color. You may also enter a hex value for a color directly. Select default Primary and Secondary colors for events. The Primary color is the background color for the event when placed in the calendar.
Override Property	Optional. Enter a property that will override the event-specific color for the Primary and Secondary colors.
Source Mode	Select `List View` or `Activity` as the source of events that will populate the calendar.
Source Activity	Optional. Appears when `Activity` is selected as the source mode. Select the Activity that will be used as a source for calendar events.
List View Name	Optional. Appears when `List View` is selected as the source mode. Select the List View property that will be used as a source for calendar events.
Source Page Name	Enter the page that contains the calendar events.
Starting Time Property	Select a property that indicates the starting time of an event. The property is used to place an event on the calendar at the correct start time.
All Day Event Property	Select a property that indicates that an event is all day. The property is used to place an event on the calender for a full day.
Ending Time Property	Select a property that indicates the ending time of an event. The property is used to place an event on the calendar with a correct end time.
Label Property	Select a property that indicates the label of an event.
Instance Handle Property	Select a property that indicates the unique instance handle of an object associated with an event.
SmartInfo Header	Enter SmartInfo header content that will display when a user hovers over an event.
SmartInfo Content	Select a property containing the SmartInfo that will display when a user hovers over an event.

4. Click OK to save the Parameters form.

5. Click OK to save the Cell Properties form.

6. Save the rule form.
