PRPC has five types of categories.
Rule Type and Data Class categories
Rule types and data forms are organized into categories as a learning aid. This grouping is used in the Application Explorer, My Rules, and Rules Explorer.
For example, the Decision category includes rule types that test values, including:

Click the plus sign next to a category in the tree control to access the rule types. One type (marked with a check mark) appears first; that type is most frequently used. Other types appear in alphabetical order.
Use the Application Inventory page's Heat Map landing page tab to see a heat map of the rule types in your application, summarized by category.
You can define categories for your application classes on the Advanced tab of the Class form.

The category of an attachment to a work item identifies the business object or purpose of the attachment, such as:
Using Attachment Category rules, you can set up the attachment categories appropriate to your application's business domain.
Managers using the Report Browser can define report categories that they name and control. Report Browser categories are grouped into three types: () Standard, () Shared, and Personal ().
Use the Report Browser to define these categories within the three types. To assign a report to a category, complete the Category field on the Design tab of the Report Definition form.
Although defined through the Report Browser, report categories are a rule type.
Optionally, you can associate a report category with a V5 list view or summary view report. Standard field value rules are defined for several categories (such as WorkMonitoring
and Assignment
) but you can define additional report categories.
