Harness, Section, and Flow Action forms - Adding a radio button group

Click the down-arrow () at the right end of the Basic control group () and select the Radio Button group control (). Drag the control to the cell or header that is to contain the radio buttons. When the pointer changes shape to indicate that a single cell is selected, release the mouse button to drop the control.

If the cell is not empty, the dropped control replaces the current contents of the cell. Click the magnifying glass () to display the Cell Properties panel.

Complete the top fields of the Cell Properties panel.

If the panel is pinned (), the wireframe presentation on the rule form changes immediately to reflect of your inputs. If the panel is not pinned (), click Apply to apply your inputs.

Field

Description

(Appears only when this field is in a section included within the current open rule.) Click to open the section that immediately contains the field.

Property

SmartPrompt Specify a property, according to the type of source (static or dynamic) you want to use to provide the values of the radio buttons:

If the set of possible values is provided by a property using the Table Type field (static list), specify a Single Value mode property that has a Table Type other than None.
If the set of possible values is provided dynamically using a report definition or a clipboard page, specify a Single Value mode property that is to hold the value of the radio button selected at runtime. Specify the report definition or clipboard page in the parameters for the Control field.

For Single Value properties in the Applies to class (or higher) of the current rule, you can alternatively drag a property name into the cell from the list of properties visible in the Application Explorer. If the container in which this field sits has a non-blank Using Page value, you can drag a Single Value property from within that embedded page property.

Click the pencil icon () to review the property (if the reference is to an existing property in the Applies To class of this rule or a parent of that class). If the property is not found, the New dialog box for the property form appears.

You can reference properties on any page identified on the Pages & Classes tab, using the normal notation pagename.propertyname for pages other than the page corresponding to the Applies To class of the rule.

If this field is in a cell of a section that includes parameter declarations on the Parameters tab, you can enter the notation param.NAME here, to use a parameter value for the field, where NAME identifies a string parameter. Make sure that the NAME parameter is declared on the Parameters tab, and that your application provides a non-blank value for the parameter value in all possible situations where the section appears. Control

To represent the property as a set of radio buttons, keep the value RadioButtons. Click the magnifying glass icon () to supply parameter values for this control.

Complete the Parameter fields; then click OK.

Parameter	Description
Method for Generating Radio Buttons	Select a radio button to indicate the source of values for the radio button group control. The parameter form changes to reflect your selection.
Clipboard Page Information	Complete these fields if you selected the Clipboard Page radio button.
Page/Property	Specify the clipboard page (a Page List or class Code-Pega-List) that will be available on the clipboard at runtime.
Class of Returned Results	Optional. Specify the class of the `pxResults()` pages. (This helps during development, by facilitating SmartPrompt operations.)
Property for Value	Required. Specify the property on the clipboard page that is the source of values for the radio buttons.
Property for Label	Optional. Specify a property on the clipboard page that is the source of the labels for the radio buttons. If not specified, defaults to the specified Property for Value.
Property for Tooltip	Optional. Specify a property on the clipboard page that is the source of the tooltip text for the radio buttons. If not specified, no Tooltips appear on the radio buttons.
Report Definition Information	Complete these fields if you selected the Report Definition radio button.
Applies To	Select the first key part of a report definition.
Report Name	Select the second key part — Report Name — of the report definition. At runtime, the system uses these two key parts and rule resolution to locate the report definition to run.
Property for Value	Required. Specify the property in the report definition that is the source of values for the radio buttons.
Property for Label	Optional. Specify a property in the report definition that is the source of labels for the radio buttons. If not specified, defaults to the specified Property for Value for the radio button labels.
Property for Tooltip	Optional. Specify a property in the report definition that is the source of the tooltip text for the radio buttons. If not specified, no Tooltips appear on the radio buttons.
Additional Information	Optional. These fields apply for any of the sources selected in the Method for Generating Radio Buttons.
Direction	Select the direction in which you want the radio buttons displayed (for example, `Horizontal`).
NumItemsBeforeWrap	Select how many radio buttons to display before wrapping to a new column.
ReadOnlySmartInfo	Optional. Identify the Purpose key part of a section to present as a SmartInfo pop-up for this control when the field is read-only.
ReadWriteSmartInfo	Optional. Identify Purpose key part of a section to present as a SmartInfo pop-up for this control when the field is read-only.
SmartInfoHeader	Optional. Enter text to appear in a SmartInfo header.

If this radio button group is within a section that itself has parameters (defined on the Parameters tab of the Section form), you can reference a section parameter to supply a control parameter value, with the normal notation PARAM.Name.

Behavior

Optional. Leave blank if no dynamic form actions to other parts of the form are to occur based on user updates or values for this field.

To establish a dynamic form action, click the magnifying glass icon () to open the Client Event Editor in a new dialog window. Complete the Client Event Editor to select an event (OnBlur, OnChange, or OnClick) and the resulting form action.

Client event support is not available for harnesses, sections, or flow actions that use directives.

Use these Windows operations to speed development:

To move a cell containing a radio button group, hold down the SHIFT key, select the cell, drag and drop it in another cell, in the same one layout or another layout.
To cut, copy, or paste a radio button group in a cell, right-click in the cell to access a context-menu.
