Back Forward Working with Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs)

Include Entity Relationship Diagrams in your document to capture class and property relationships for a specific case type or class.

Before you start

  1. Access the Application Document Wizard from a supported browser version of IE.
  2. Ensure that your client has Visio installed so you can properly view and include ERDs in the generated document. ERDs are stored in binary file rules as attached .vdx files.

Create an Entity Relationship Diagram

Use fields in the Entity Relationship Diagrams section to create an ERD for a case type or class.

Check the box next to each case type and class that requires an ERD. To add a new class, enter a name in the Class Name field. You can add more than one class name by clicking the add row icon.

Identify a ruleset to contain the ERDs by selecting an application ruleset name and unlocked version in the Ruleset and Ruleset Version fields.

Select options in Classes and Properties fields to refine the level of detail in each ERD.

Click the Create button to create a binary file rule for each ERD in the specified ruleset. Wait for the progress bar to complete and then review results for each ERD in the Status field.

Modify an Entity Relationship Diagram

Existing ERDs appear in the Entity Relationship Diagrams section with a Created [date] message in the Status field and a rule opener icon in the Edit field.

Click the icon to open the binary file rule containing the ERD. You can use buttons on the Main tab of the rule form to download the attached Visio file and upload a modified version.

NoteDelete the binary file rule to remove the ERD.
