System Operations landing page

Access the System Operations landing page by selecting the Designer Studio >System > Operations menu item. The following tabs are available:

This resource is available for users with certain privileges set for their account.

Role Privilege Name Description
Observer PegaRULES:SysOpsObserver Can view all available agent data.
Administrator PegaRULES:SysOpsAdministrator Can view all available agent data and can perform actions on available data agents, such as starting or stopping agents.

System Information

This is the default page displayed when selecting the Operations menu item. This page contains detailed information about the system grouped across several sections.

Section Description
Node Information

Identifies the system, node, and server, along with available resources. Also lists active requestors, listeners, and connections on the system.

System wide requestor starts

Requestor starts across the entire system.

Build Information

Descriptive information about the current build.

Java VM Information

Information about the Java virtual machine used by the system.

Agents

On this page, observers can see lists of the agents on a system, their corresponding rulesets, and their current status.

Administrators may start or stop one or all agents, select the check box next to an agent name or use the Select All link to select all agent names, and then click the Start or Stop button to perform the corresponding action.

Administrators are encouraged to use the Agent landing page when starting or stopping agent status, and should avoid manually changing Data-Agent-Queue and Rule-Agent-Queue instances, since this may cause inconsistent results in the UI.

Note: Rule-Agent-Queue instances can be created in tenants. However, tenant-specific agents should not be created.

All columns on this page listed below (except for Status) can be filtered by clicking the arrow icon next to the column header.

Column Description
Agent name

The name of the agent. Click an agent name to open the Agent Detail page.

Category

The category of the agent.

RuleSet

The ruleset that the agent uses.

Queue class

The queue class of the agent.

Status

The status of the agent. Agent status is displayed using one of three symbols:

  • Running
  • Stopped
  • Exception

Agent Detail

This page details information about the nodes that the agent is running on.

At the top of the page, the agent name is listed, along with the ruleset and frequency. Click the agent name to view the agent rule instance in Designer Studio.

Agent status across nodes that the agent is executing on in a system is displayed in a table (if any). Columns in this table can be filtered by clicking the arrow icon next to the column header.

Select the checkbox next to an agent name to perform a start or stop action using the corresponding button, or can use the Select All or Clear All links to select all or none of the listed agents.

Column Description
Node name

The name of the node that the agent is accessing. Agents with no active nodes display the phrase "No items" under this column.

Node Id

The node ID for the node access.

Date run

If active, the time date that the node is being accessed.

Time to complete (HH:mm:ss:mmm)

The queue class of the agent.

Status

The status of the agent running on the node. Agent status is displayed using one of three symbols:

  • Running
  • Stopped
  • Exception

If an agent displays an exception on this page, view the exception by clicking the icon.

The functionality on this page is not readily available in the System Management Application (SMA). Prior to the creation of this page, administrators had to navigate to individual nodes and locate the agent of interest.

Requestors

This page provides a number of requestors within four sections:

A button is available on this page to calculate data size for the requestors.

A table displays information on all current requestors.

Column Description
Name

The requestor name. Hover over a requestor name to view the requestor ID.

Type

The requestor type.

Application

The application that the requestor uses. Click an application name to open the Edit Application form.

Last Access

The last time that the requestor accessed the application.

Threads

How many threads the requestor uses.

Pages

How many pages the requestor uses.

Data Size

The size of the data used by the requestor.

Click the Details link in a requestor's row to display a popup with additional information about the requestor.

Click the Actions link in a requestor's row to display a menu where you can select one of the following actions:

Logs

This page lists log utilities and their descriptions.

Click a utility name from the list to open a window with a screen that lists its appender files. You can click the file name to view its .log file, or you can click a corresponding link to either download the text or .ZIP file of the log.

Purge/Archive

This page lists both purge and archive utilities, along with their descriptions.

Click a utility name from the list to open the Purge/Archive Configuration Wizard.

System Management Application

Selecting this option from the Operations menu opens the System Management Application in a new window.
