Validating and restricting access to case information

You can configure a case type to validate user input and restrict access to information in a case. By controlling who updates a case and what kind of information is required, you can guide case workers to successful case resolution.

  1. Choose a locking strategy for top-level case types that manages concurrent access to a case.

  2. Optional: Use a different locking strategy for child case types that have different access requirements.

  3. Validate the information that users provide when they create or save a case.

  4. Create attachment categories for each business classification of attachments in your application.

  5. Associate attachment categories with case types.

  6. Define the operations that users can perform for each attachment category.
