The Outbound Campaign canvas allows you to view and configure all pertinent information about your Outbound Campaign.

The Outbound Campaign canvas operates in the following two modes:

Use the Edit button to switch to edit mode. When in edit mode, use either the Save or Discard button to switch back to review mode.

The canvas is split into the following sections, each of which is described subsequently:


Campaign details

Use this section to specify the following Outbound Campaign details:

Field

Description

Name Required. Enter a unique name for your Outbound Campaign.

Note The Outbound Campaign's name must be unique across the system. The name must also begin with a letter and shouldn't contain any special characters (except spaces and underscores).

Campaign Image Select an image to associate with the Outbound Campaign. This image is displayed in the card for the Outbound Campaign on the Campaigns landing page.
Priority Select a value for the Outbound Campaign's priority. Choose from Immediate, High, Medium, and Low.
Campaign Type Enter a type for this Outbound Campaign.
Objectives Enter the objectives for this Outbound Campaign.
Key Code Enter a marketing key code to identify this Outbound Campaign.
Issue Select an Issue under which to categorize this Outbound Campaign.
Group Select a Group under which to categorize this Outbound Campaign.
Tags Use this section to manage tags for the Outbound Campaign. You can add tags once you've created the Outbound Campaign (i.e., after you've progressed from the New form).
Planned Start Specify the planned start date and time for this Outbound Campaign. The system uses this value as the default for the scheduled run time in the Run action display.
Budget Specify the overall budget for this Outbound Campaign.
Forecast Expenses Specify the expected expenses for this Outbound Campaign.
Forecast Revenue Specify the expected revenue of this Outbound Campaign.
Ignore global exclusion list If authorized, enable this check box to ignore the exclusion list while processing Offers for this Outbound Campaign.

Audience

The Outbound Campaign's audience is the set of individuals that you wish to target with your marketing message. Audience selection in Outbound Campaigns utilizes the Segment rule. The Audience card in the Outbound Campaign canvas displays the following information about the currently selected Segment:

Selecting a Segment

In edit mode, you can designate a Segment as your Outbound Campaign's audience. To do so, click anywhere on the empty Audience card.

tip, shortcut, best practice If your Outbound Campaign already has an audience and you wish to change it, use the Delete link at the bottom of the card to remove the selected Segment and revert back to an empty card.

Upon clicking the empty card, the Add Segment modal window displays. This modal presents the twenty most recently updated Segments. To view an additional twenty Segments, use the View more results link at the bottom of the list. Use the search box to search for Segments by their name and description. You can also use the Create new link to create a new Segment. The Refresh link refreshes the list, retaining any search criteria that you entered.

Each Segment in the list is displayed with the following information:

Click anywhere on a Segment to select it. Upon doing so, the system displays more information about the selected Segment in the right pane. This includes the following common information for all Segment types:

Click the Add button to designate the selected Segment as the Outbound Campaign's audience and return to the Audience card.


Offer

The Offer card focuses on the promotional content that you wish to communicate and the channels you wish to utilize. Offer selection in Outbound Campaigns utilizes the Offer rule. The Offer card in the Outbound Campaign canvas displays the following information about the currently selected Offer:

In edit mode, you can select an Offer for your Outbound Campaign. To do so, click anywhere on the empty Offer card.

Each Offer in the list is displayed with the following information:

Click anywhere on an Offer to select it. Upon doing so, the right pane displays the list of Treatments (grouped by channel) that this Offer utilizes. Clicking a treatment name opens the associated treatment rule.

Click the Add button to designate the selected Offer as the Outbound Campaign's Offer and return to the Offer card.

Note In the current release of Pega Marketing, the Offer and Flow cards are inter-related as the metadata for both these cards uses the same Offer rule. As such, selecting one of these cards auto-selects the other card as well. Similarly, removing either the selected Offer or Flow also removes the other.


Flow

The Flow card determines the means in which the Outbound Campaign content will be sent to the audience. Flow selection in Outbound Campaigns currently also utilizes the same Offer rule as the Offer card. The Flow card in the Outbound Campaign canvas displays the following information about the currently selected Offer:

Click the Add button to designate the selected Offer as the Outbound Campaign's Flow and return to the Flow card.


Goals / Goal performance

The Goals section displays in the Outbound Campaign canvas until the Outbound Campaign starts running. Once this happens, the Goal performance section displays instead.

Goals

Use this section to review and specify goals for your Outbound Campaign. Each goal displays with the following information:

In edit mode, use the Manage goals link to update these goals. Clicking this link launches the Manage goals modal window. This modal contains a list of the current goals for the Outbound Campaign. You can add and remove goals, and update their target values. Click Apply to save your changes to the goals and return to the canvas. You can also click Cancel to discard your changes to the goals.

Goal performance

Once the Outbound Campaign starts running, the Goal performance section monitors the performance of your Outbound Campaign against any added goals. This section lists the total number of goals and how many have been achieved. Each goal is shown as a card with the following information:


Status

This section displays the Outbound Campaign's current status and status icon. When the Outbound Campaign is scheduled to run, it shows the scheduled run time. Once the Outbound Campaign starts running, this section shows how long the Outbound Campaign has been running.
