The home page of the Developer portal provides rapid access to six facilities, known as slices. Each slice provides access to tools and rules in one segment or area of your application.

 OpenBasics

The contents of each slice depend on the current work pool. The name of this work pool appears at the top of the workspace. Select File > Open > Work Pool to confirm or set the current work pool.

LogoTo access the home page, click the Pega logo in the upper left corner of the portal.

Click any of six large buttons on the Home page to access a slice. Your choice is remembered in the Currently Open display, even after you open rule forms, operate tools or wizards, and so on

To return the most recent slice display:

  1. Click the View button (View) to access the Currently Open list in pop-up window.
  2. Click the Home button (Home).

Click to see flow rules and simulation rules associated with the current work pool. Choose:

  • Rule Summary — Counts flow rules by work type. Click a row to list the flow rules.
  • Explorer — Use the Process Explorer to understand the relationships among starter flows and subflows. See Using the Process Explorer. .

Click to summarize harness, section, and flow action rules in the currently selected work pool.

The report presents one row for each work type that is the Applies To key part of at least one harness, section, or flow action rules.

Click a row to drill down to the rules for that work type.

Decision

Policy Decisions

Click to summarize or access the decision rules associated with the current work pool:

  • Rule Summary — Lists counts of seven types of decision rules, organized by work type (the Applies To class). Click a row to drill down to the rules.
  • Explorer — presents the Declarative Network Analysis, identifying properties in the current application that have an associated Declare Expression rule, organized by work type (the Applies To class). Each is marked with an icon (DNA). Click a property name to start the Declarative Network for that property. See About the Declarative Network display.

Integration

Click to access the connector rules, service rules, and data instances supporting your application. (The contents of this slice does not depend on the current work pool). See Integration slice.

Security
Cases and Content

Click to access attachment categories, correspondence rules, work parties, properties, and service level rules associated with the current work pool.

  • Select Summary to tally correspondence rules, work party rules, properties, and service level rules by work type. Click to drill down to the rules.
  • Select Explorer to list attachment categories created with the Attachment Category wizard.

In earlier releases, the Cases and Content slice included an Attachment Category wizard. This wizard is not available in V5.5+. Use attachment category rules to define the names of attachment categories in your application and the security restrictions of each category. When upgrading an application to V5.5, replace the existing attachment category definitions by creating attachment category rules with the same name.
