Informally, each of the closed shapes in a flow (an instance of the Rule-Obj-Flow rule type) is known as a task. In the Microsoft Visio presentation, a flow consists of tasks and connectors (arrows).
Each of the shapes representing an assignment, a notification, a router, a decision, a Flow start or FlowEnd, a Split/Join, and so on, is a task.
The name you assign to a task appears on the flow diagram and on the breadcrumbs control.
Select the shape in Visio to review or update the shape parameters defining the task.
