About the Advanced Search tools

Use the Advanced Search tools to search for rules, data objects or work objects. Click a help button () on the pane for guidance on the three panels.

Starting the Advanced Search tool

Use either method open the Advanced Search tool:

Select Edit > Advanced Search.
Perform any search with the Find facility. Click the Advanced Search link on the results panel.

Using the three Advanced Search panels

The left panel provides six predefined searches of rules. See Advanced Search tool — Left Panel.
Use the middle panel to open a single rule when you know its key parts. See Advanced Search tool — Lookup Rules.
Use the right panel to search for all rules, all data instances, or all work objects that contain specified text or query. (These three searches are not enabled on all Process Commander systems.) See Advanced Search tool — Find Content

Notes

Operation of the Find by Name facility uses information in a view of the PegaRULES database named pr4_rule_view, corresponding to the class Data-Rule-Summary.

The Find Content facilities depend on indexes. See Understanding the Find Content search facility.
