Purpose

Interaction rules define parameters for running a strategy, how to prepare the interaction history and how to save the interaction results.

Interaction rules are available through the Decision Strategy Manager. For more information about this rule, see the PDN article About the Decision Strategy Manager.

Where referenced

Interaction rules are used in flows through the Run Strategy and Capture Response shapes and can also be used for process monitoring through the Capture Response shape alone.

Two run methods support the use of interaction rules in activities.

• Run Strategy — rules can be executed in run strategy mode by using the Call Rule-Decision- Interaction.pxRunStrategy method with the following parameters:
• • Name of the interaction rule
  • Applies To class
• Capture Response — rules can be executed in capture response mode by using the Call Rule-Decision- Interaction.pxRunCaptureResponse method with the following parameters:
• • Name of the interaction rule
  • Applies To class

Access

Use the Application Explorer to access Interaction rules that apply to the work types in your application. Use the Rules Explorer to list all the Interaction rules available to you.

Category

Interaction rules are part of the Decision category. An Interaction rule is an instance of the Rule-Decision-Interaction rule type.
