About Geofences
 

Purpose

A Geofence is a virtual boundary around a particular location. Create Geofence rules to define these boundaries in the system and to trigger associated Real-Time Events. For example, a customer entering (or nearing) a store could trigger the predefined Geofence for that store. This could in turn trigger an associated Real-Time Event whereby the customer is presented with an appropriate Offer.

Where Referenced

Geofence rules may be referenced in the following ways:

• Real-Time Event rules can reference Geofence rules via the Associated Geofences section on the Event Details tab. Triggering the associated Geofence will trigger the referencing Real-Time Event(s).
• Strategy rules can reference Geofence rules via the Geofence Filter shape on the Strategy rule canvas.
• Passbook Treatments can reference Geofence rules in the Locations grid on the Relevance mini-tab of the Passbook Details tab.

Access

Use the Geofences tab on the Real-Time Artifacts landing page to view the Geofence rules configured in your system.

Category

Geofence rules are instances of the Rule-PegaMKT-Geofence class. They belong to the Marketing category.
