Process Commander has five types of categories.
Rule Type and Data Class categories
Rule types and data forms are organized into
categories as a learning aid. This grouping is used in the
Application Explorer, Used by App Explorer and Rules by Type
Explorer.
For example, the Decision category includes rule types that test
values, including:
- Decision trees
- Decision tables
- Map values
See Process
category, Technical
category for additional examples.
Click the plus sign next to a category in the tree control to access
the rule types. One type (marked with a check mark) appears first; that
type is most frequently used. Other types appear in alphabetical
order.
Use the Application Inventory page's Heat Map gadget to see a heat map of the rule types in
your application, summarized by category.
You can define categories for your own application classes on the
Advanced tab of the Class form.
Landing page categories
Attachment categories
The category of an attachment to a work object identifies the
business object or purpose of the attachment, such as:
- Check photocopy
- New account application
- Depreciation schedule
- Customer letter
Using Attachment Category rules, you can set up the attachment
categories appropriate to your application's business domain.
Report Shortcut Categories
Managers using the Report Browser can define report categories that they name and control. Report Browser categories are grouped into three types: () Standard, () Shared, and Personal ( ).
Use the Report Browser to define these categories within the three types. To assign a report to a category, complete the Category field on the Design tab of the Report Definition form.
V5 Report Categories
6.1Optionally, you can associate a report category with a V5 list
view or summary view report. Standard field value rules are defined for
several categories (such as WorkMonitoring
and
Assignment
) but you can define additional report
categories.
