The rule types in the Integration Mapping category support connector and services interfaces between Pega Platform and external systems.

About eForm file rules
The SmartForms feature supports applications that work with PDF files. Your application can process incoming completed PDF forms, extract field data, and write the data into properties on the clipboard. The Pega Platform can also merge data from the clipboard into a PDF form, generating a new PDF document.
Map eForm rules
The SmartForms capability enables your applications to work with PDF files. Your application can extract field data from incoming PDF forms and can generate PDF forms and documents.
Map Structured rules
Use a map structured rule to define a two-way mapping between clipboard properties and a fixed-format record structure or text property value.
Parse Delimited rules
Use a Parse Delimited rule to upload data into your Pega Platform system from an external file or files. Within each input record, a comma, tab, quote, or other character may separate fields. The rule extracts the text between the delimiter characters and stores it in a Single Value property or as one element of a Value List property. This rule expects a single row of data.
About Parse Normalize rules
Parse normalize rules operate on a text string and perform string substitutions, to produce a normalized output text string. Normalization can replace multiple variants of a word or other text with a uniform, normalized value. Such normalization can make later operations on the normalized string simpler or faster.
Parse structured rules
Use a Parse Structured rule in conjunction with a Service File rule or the Apply-Parse-Structured method to import structured data to the clipboard. For example, you can import fixed-format flat files from various external sources and platforms.
Parse XML rules
Use Parse XML rules with services and connectors to map data from an XML text message into clipboard property values. Each Parse XML rule contains an array of parsing instructions that let the Pega Platform interpret an incoming XML document or message.
XML Stream rules
Create an XML stream rule to define an XML template or skeleton message as part of an interface between the Pega Platform and an external system. It can be used to assemble and send an XML document in an email message, a SOAP message, a file, or other types of messages.
