This page outlines the various actions that you can perform on your Campaign.

The actions that you can perform on the Campaign vary based on the status of the Campaign and your role. The primary action is available as an orange button.

Actions are available in the Campaign header either as buttons or under the Actions button menu or both.

Click the desired menu action to perform it. Upon doing so, the system will present you with the appropriate fields for that action. While performing an action, you can switch to a different action (if available) via the Other Actions button.

Performing the Edit action

Perform this action to configure your Campaign. See Configuring a Campaign for details. After performing this action, the Campaign must once again go through the approval process (if approval is needed).

Performing the Submit for Approval action

Perform this action to submit your Campaign for approval. Most Campaigns require approval before you can launch them.

Use the Note text area to enter a message for your manager. Click Submit to submit the approval request.

The system automatically routes your approval request to the manager of your organizational unit. In addition to adding the Campaign to the manager’s Work List, the system also notifies the manager about the approval request via email. This email contains salient Campaign information, your message, and a link to directly open the Campaign work object.

Performing the Recall action

Once you submit a Campaign for approval, you cannot make any changes to the Campaign until your manager processes it. If you wish to make further updates, perform the Recall action to recall the Campaign from your manager.

Use the Recall Note text area to enter a message for your manager. Click Submit to submit the recall request.

The system notifies the manager via email and attempts to recall the Campaign. The email contains your recall message and a link to directly open the Campaign work object. Once the system successfully recalls a Campaign, you can make necessary updates and re-submit for approval.

Performing the Approve action

This action is available only to managers.

To perform this action, open the Campaign work object either from the notification email (by clicking the Campaign link) or from your work list; and initiate the Approve action.

Review the various Campaign details. Use the Approval Note field to optionally enter an approval message. Click Submit to approve the Campaign.

Upon Campaign approval, the system notifies the user, who submitted the Campaign for approval, via email so they can start working on it again. The notification email contains the approval message and a link to directly open the Campaign work object.

The system also displays the approval message in the Campaign display.

Performing the Reject action

This action is available only to managers.

To perform this action, open the Campaign work object either from the notification email (by clicking the Campaign link) or from your work list; and initiate the Reject action.

Review the various Campaign details. Use the Rejection Note field to specify the reason for rejecting the Campaign. Click Submit to reject the Campaign.

Upon Campaign rejection, the system notifies the user, who submitted the Campaign for approval, via email so they can address your concerns. The notification email contains the rejection message and a link to directly open the Campaign work object.

The system also displays the rejection message in the Campaign display.

Performing the Validate action

Perform this action to validate your Campaign configuration. The system categorizes any violations into critical items and warnings.

You can use the edit link to switch to the Edit action and start making updates to your Campaign.

Click Close when you're done reviewing the validation results.

The system invokes this same validation routine when you perform any of the following actions:

If the validation returns any errors in these cases, you must correct them before you can perform the desired action.

Performing the Run / Submit for Execution action

Perform this action to submit your Campaign for execution. This action is only available once your Campaign is approved (if needed) and you've specified all fields necessary for execution. The system signals the availability of this action by making the Run button available.

When you initiate this action, the system runs the Validate action on the Campaign and reports any validation errors and warnings to you. You must resolve all validation errors before you can proceed with this action.

Make any necessary updates to the engagement configuration.

Click Confirm to submit the Campaign for execution. At this point, the system generates the execution schedule for the Campaign if a schedule was enabled. You can see the generated schedule in the Run schedule section in the Campaign display. The system also creates other artifacts necessary for Campaign execution. The system then waits for the execution time of the first run or for an event to trigger Campaign execution.

Caution sign After submitting a Campaign for execution (and while it is still active), do not delete any referenced components (such as Segments, Strategies, and Volume Constraints). In addition, you should make certain structural changes only after suspending the Campaign (via the Suspend action). Examples of these changes include modifying the Strategy’s Public Component and adding or removing Segment usage within Strategies. After making the desired structural change, you must perform the Edit action before re-performing the Run / Submit for Execution action.

Performing the Reschedule action

Perform this action to re-schedule a Campaign you've already submitted for execution. The new schedule applies only to upcoming runs and does not impact completed and currently executing runs.

Make necessary updates to the configured Campaign engagement. You can only make updates to schedule-related configurations. You may not enable or disable engagement types, or modify associated Events or Containers. If you need to make such changes, you must use the Suspend action.

The system temporarily suspends any upcoming runs while you're performing this action.

Click Confirm to reschedule the Campaign. At this point, the system removes the previous set of upcoming runs for the Campaign and calculates a new set of upcoming runs based on your new schedule.

The system also notifies the user, who submitted this Campaign for execution, about the rescheduling. The notification email contains the next run time and a link to directly open the Campaign work object.

Performing the Suspend action

Perform this action to suspend a running Campaign. Suspending a Campaign prevents any upcoming runs from executing.

Use the Suspend Note text area to enter your reason for suspending the Campaign. Click Confirm to suspend the Campaign.

The system notifies the user, who submitted this Campaign for execution, about the Campaign suspension. The notification email contains your suspension note and a link to directly open the Campaign work object.

Performing the Resume action

Perform this action to resume a suspended Campaign.

Select from the following options for Please select the campaign runs you wish to resume:

Use the information provided by the The following campaign runs will be resumed field to gauge the impact of the different resume options on Campaign execution.

Use the Resume Note text area to enter your reason for resuming the Campaign. Click Confirm to resume the Campaign.

The system notifies the user, who submitted this Campaign for execution, about the Campaign resumption. The notification email contains your note and a link to directly open the Campaign work object.

Performing the Stop all runs action

Perform this action to stop all active runs on the Campaign.

The system displays the list of runs that it will attempt to stop in the The Campaign Run(s) started on the following dates will be stopped: field.

Use the Note text area to enter your reason for stopping active runs. Click Confirm to submit the stop request.

At this point, the system issues stop requests for all applicable runs. The system will halt run processing (if possible) at the earliest possible instance. Once the system successfully stops a run, it sends the user a notification email containing a link to directly open the Campaign work object. The stopped run is also assigned to this user's work list.

You can perform the Restart or Skip action on any stopped run via the corresponding action link from the run's row in the Run schedule section in the Campaign display.

Performing the Withdraw action

Use this action to withdraw a Campaign. You can't withdraw Campaigns that are in an approval or execution stage. In such cases, you must first recall or suspend the Campaign.

Withdrawn Campaigns are not listed (by default) in the Campaigns landing page. To view such Campaigns, set the Status filter on this landing page to Withdrawn.

Performing the Wrap-Up action

This action becomes available when all scheduled runs for a Campaign are complete (for schedule-enabled Campaigns) and the Event and Container enabled periods have lapsed (if applicable).

Use this action to complete the Campaign. Enter any additional remarks on the Campaign in the Wrap-Up Notes field. Classify the outcome of the Campaign using the Category field. Choose from: Successful, Not successful, Neutral, and Not specified.

Click Submit to wrap-up the Campaign.
