Back Forward Designer Studio — Using the Application menu

Click the down-arrow (down-arrow) at the right end of the current application name (on the left end of the header) to access the Application menu. Use the Application menu to:

Switch Application

Select an application to become your current application from those listed in your access group. The scope of the Application Explorer and many other features of the Designer Studio change when you change the current application.

NoteYou cannot use the Application menu to open the current application's corresponding application rule. Use the Profile menu to view the rule for the current application.

New Application > Application Profile

Starts the Application Profiler which captures information about a planned application, such as requirements and specifications, as an application profile. The resulting application profile provides a foundation for application development as well as a document of the planned details for the project implementation. (See application profile).

New Application > Application Accelerator

Starts the Application Accelerator, which generates an enterprise-level application based on your inputs to the accelerator and, optionally, an application profile. The accelerator generates a set of rules (including classes and RuleSets) for the new application, new implementation, or framework extension. (See Application Accelerator).

New Application > Application Express

Creates an application for prototypes or demonstrations. This action creates a basic application for experimentation and learning. See Application Express.

New Application > Profiles in Progress

Displays a list of application profiles currently in progress and those that you can modify. Select the profile you want to open and update.

Above the list of profiles, you can click New Application Profile to create a new profile. (See application profile).

Switch Work Pool Select a work pool to move from your current work pool to another pool listed in your access group.
