Designer Studio — Selecting an Explorer

About explorers

The Explorer area, a panel at the right of the Designer Studio, displays the Explorer tools. These explorers provide easy access to a subset of rules, data instances, and other instances in your system. Only one tool is visible at a time.

Some explorers present their information in a tree-like structure that identifies the rules and instances by name. Click a name to open the rule or other instance.

Details of each display may depend on preferences that you can change.

Changing to a different explorer

To display a different explorer, click the down-arrow at the right of the Explorer area and select one of the following explorers from the menu:

• Profile Explorer — To access the business-related assets and profile-related elements for your current application. See Using the Profile Explorer.
• Application Explorer — To access the rules belonging to RuleSet versions that belong to your current application, organized by category within work type. See Using the Application Explorer.
• Class Explorer — To access all instances of all classes in your system, organized by the class hierarchy using directed inheritance. See About the Class Explorer.
• Rules Explorer — To access all rules and data instances in your system, organized by category and type. See About the Rules Explorer.
• My Rules — To access your checked-out rules and your personal and access group favorites. See About My Rules.
