Pega Cloud 3: Transforming Enterprise Operations with Advanced As-a-Service Capabilities

The digital transformation landscape continues to evolve at breakneck speed, and organizations worldwide are seeking platforms that not only keep pace with change but anticipate and enable it. During our recent Q2 Pega As-a-Service Release & Roadmap webinar, we unveiled the latest innovations in Pega Cloud 3 that are reshaping how enterprises approach application development, deployment, and management.

The Foundation: Pega Cloud 3 Infrastructure

Pega Cloud 3 represents our most advanced infrastructure to date, serving as the backbone for Pega as-a-Service offerings. Currently, 65% of our entire fleet operates on this cutting-edge platform, with the remaining migrations progressing steadily. This infrastructure exclusively supports Pega Infinity 25.1, which is set to reach general availability in the coming weeks, packed with the latest AI-backed features that are transforming how businesses operate.

One of the most exciting developments is Pega Blueprint, accessible at pega.com/blueprint. This revolutionary tool compresses what traditionally took months of design, whiteboarding, and stakeholder discussions into less than five minutes. Users can now articulate their ideas and instantly design workflows, configure data models, and preview applications across mobile, chatbot, and web interfaces before exporting the blueprint directly into Pega Infinity.

Enhanced Resilience and Disaster Recovery

Enterprise continuity demands robust disaster recovery capabilities. Our enhanced disaster recovery feature now extends beyond the traditional multi-availability zone high availability within regions. Organizations can now configure primary and backup regions, ensuring seamless failover capabilities with a recovery time objective of less than two hours and a recovery point objective of less than 15 minutes.

This feature launched with support for most common AWS regions and currently supports Pega Platform, Customer Service, and Sales Automation. Throughout the year, we're expanding support to include Pega Customer Decision Hub and additional regions, with plans to extend this capability to Pega GCP next year.

Advanced Networking and Self-Service Capabilities

Cloud Advanced Networking provides granular access control for both inbound and outbound connections, giving organizations unprecedented control over their network configurations. This complements our comprehensive self-service portal, My Pega Cloud, which serves as the central console for subscription management, environment administration, and operational tasks.

The portal now includes exclusive scheduling capabilities for software upgrades, eliminating the need for support tickets and coordination delays. Users receive a free, updated clone environment for testing before triggering updates on live systems, ensuring confidence in upgrade processes.

Performance Monitoring and Global Deployments

PDC HTTP Monitoring revolutionizes application performance visibility by continuously analyzing load balancer logs. This feature provides real-time insights into application reachability and performance, enabling teams to identify issues within seconds of deployment changes. The monitoring data is now available through REST APIs, facilitating integration with popular monitoring tools like Grafana and Dynatrace.

Deployment Manager's global deployment capabilities address the complex needs of multinational organizations and teams with multiple development centers. Organizations can develop in one region and deploy across multiple regions—from US East to Canada to Europe—while tracking the entire deployment process from a single interface. This feature particularly benefits center of excellence teams that provide reusable components across multiple teams and applications.

Artificial Intelligence at the Core

Generative AI stands at the center of our product development philosophy. Every epic now includes acceptance criteria for Gen AI feature utilization, reflecting our commitment to AI-driven productivity enhancements. From developer productivity tools to application enhancement features, AI capabilities span the entire platform ecosystem.

Our internal Global Operations Center, built on the Pega platform, leverages Gen AI to accelerate deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting diagnosis across our entire Pega Cloud fleet. This real-world application demonstrates the practical impact of AI integration in enterprise operations.

Global Expansion and Compliance

Our regional expansion continues with upcoming support for Malaysia, Cape Town, Melbourne, Thailand, and Mexico, bringing our total to over 30 regions worldwide across AWS and GCP. We maintain over 20 compliance attestations, available at pega.com/trust, with plans to support Canada Protected B status by year-end.

In collaboration with Amazon Web Services, we're developing the Pega EU Service Boundary, also known as Sovereign Cloud, addressing specific regulatory requirements. For US Government sector clients, we're launching a second region in AWS GovCloud US East, complementing our existing US West presence, with additional support for VCAP and IPv6 capabilities.

The As-a-Service Philosophy

The evolution from "Pega Cloud" to "Pega as-a-Service" reflects a fundamental mindset shift. This transformation places client experience at the center of every feature development decision. The as-a-Service approach ensures that administrative work, infrastructure management, monitoring, compliance, and security become our responsibility, allowing clients to focus exclusively on developing applications and solving business problems.

This philosophy extends to every aspect of our platform, from automated security compliance to seamless disaster recovery, ensuring that the complexity of enterprise-grade infrastructure remains invisible to application developers and business users.

Looking Forward

The roadmap ahead includes enhanced data movement capabilities with masking for production-to-non-production environments, expanded global deployment features for GCP, and comprehensive self-service networking controls. These developments continue our commitment to reducing operational overhead while expanding capability and control.

As we advance into an increasingly AI-driven future, Pega as-a-Service stands ready to support organizations in their digital transformation journeys, providing the infrastructure, tools, and capabilities needed to build for change and thrive in dynamic business environments.
