Overview

Report Analyzer helps Pega developers ensure that Report Definitions are built to scale before they reach production. Reports that perform well in development or QA often degrade in production due to larger data volumes and different workload patterns. Without visibility into the database operations generated by reports, identifying performance risks early is difficult and time‑consuming.
This component bridges that gap by providing deep visibility into the SQL and execution behavior behind Report Definitions. By analyzing execution plans and runtime characteristics and augmenting them with GenAI-powered optimization recommendations, Report Analyzer enables developers to proactively identify bottlenecks and optimize reports during development. The result is improved developer productivity, reduced production risk, and consistent, production‑grade reporting performance.

Key Features

1. Extracting the SQL query generated by a selected Report Definition.
2. Running EXPLAIN PLAN and EXPLAIN ANALYZE on the extracted query to identify performance characteristics and bottlenecks.
3. Sending these results to GenAI, which provides targeted recommendations to optimize the Report Definition, such as indexing suggestions, filter adjustments, or configuration improvements.
