Case ID sequence Incorrect when case is created in Pega 8.3

Summary



Post upgrade to Pega Platform 8.3, the Case ID sequence is incorrect on creating cases with different users.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch the User portal.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Navigate to New Submission > Casualty. Verify the Case ID created.
  4. Log in with Testuw_rc enduser.
  5. Click Create.
  6. Navigate to New Submission > Casualty.


Root Cause



This behavior is as per Pega product design.


Resolution



Here's the explanation for the reported behavior:

From Pega Platform 8.3, Pega updated the API used for Case ID generation from getdataUniqueID to getUniqueID to improve the performance of a multi-node system.
