Overview

Pega Modernization Utilities is a reusable automation component that speeds up legacy application modernization by eliminating manual, rule‑by‑rule conversion work. It analyzes existing applications, identifies deprecated rule types, and converts them into modern, fully supported alternatives using standardized logic.

The utilities focus on two common modernization areas where teams typically spend significant time and effort. First, legacy reporting rules such as List Views and Summary Views are automatically converted into Report Definitions. Second, legacy background processing implemented through Standard and Advanced Agents is modernized into Queue Processors or Job Schedulers based on how the original logic executes.

By automating discovery, conversion, and validation, Pega Modernization Utilities reduces errors, ensures consistency across teams, and significantly accelerates large‑scale upgrade and modernization efforts.
