Error occurs when tracing a file through File Listener

SA-87510

Summary

Error occurs when tracing a file through the File Listener.

Error Messages

Tracer Session Error: This rule RULE-SEVICE-FILE JDEFILEUPLOADJDEFILEUPLOADJDEFILEUPLOAD is being traced by operator C5100701 from requestor. HLH4H1DHMRO30H0TU4VQ4GJC3UPITSMATA - Please restart tracer.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In Pega Admin Studio, navigate to the Resources landing page.
  2. Select the Listener and Trace service in the cluster.

Root Cause

A particular requestor is trace watching on a particular Listener rule and the Tracer is not closed due to a browser crash (or any other reason).

When the user traced the same rule again using a different session (same or different requestor or operator), the rule cannot be traced since it is considered that someone (requestor or operator) locked the Tracer Watch on the rule. The lock is automatically released when the requestor is passivated.

Resolution

Perform either of the following local-changes:
  • In Pega Admin Studio, identify the listener and select 'Terminate service Tracer in cluster' from the Actions dropdown.

  • In the Admin Studio, identify the requestor and select 'Terminate rule watch'.
