Issue with Declare Index - Index count

SA-33240

Summary

On to the Work Page, user has a Page on which the declare index is set, whenever the declare is saved and then submitted then delcare index count is generated as 4 instead of 0 or 1,

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create page property.
2. Define declare index on page properties.
3. Save the page property.
4. Submit the work page.

Root Cause

Pega does not guarantee that this count will be equal to some count of declare indexes.

This is an internally generated unique ID to uniquely identify this declare index among all the declare indexes written from this work object.

This is only a unique ID and is not any sequential counter.

In User case, there must be having other declare index rows getting created which might be taking the counts 1,2,3.

They might be having some work parties in the work object and this entry ends up getting count as 4.

It is just a unique ID which is not guaranteed to not change when re-indexing happens.

Resolution

Pega does not guarantee that this count will be equal to some count of declare indexes.

This is an internally generated unique ID to uniquely identify this declare index among all the declare indexes written from this work object.

This is only a unique ID and is not any sequential counter.

However, again , there is no guarantee that this will remain 4.

User is suggested not to rely on this counter as signifying any count.
