Resolution

In Pega 7, the PRPC Pushpin functionality is disabled in Designer Studio due to issues caused by the screenshot OCX:

The OCX is causing an issue with IE9 were drop shadows (blue box that are shown when drag / drop to indicate where to drop an element for example when dragging and dropping an element in a section rule) are not working in Design View because of the OCX running in background. The OCX is also not working in IE10 or IE11. Hence disabled screenshot in the pushpin.

You can still enable pushpin in end user portals in Pega 7.

Limitations of Pushpin In End User Portals

  1. Screenshots only get captured if the user is using IE8 or IE9.   Screenshots are not supported in other versions of IE (including IE10 and IE11) or in other browsers such as Chrome.
  2. There are some usability issues with drag and drop of the pushpin in non-IE browsers.  The user isn't allowed to drop the pushpin anywhere on the screen. There are only particular areas where they can drop the pin.
