Career Objectives

To lead my own development team

Let’s begin with the story of your Pega journey - What motivated you to learn how to use the Pega platform?
I was becoming frustrated in learning so many programming languages year after year, and each iteration became more complex to adapt to the ever evolving IT matrix. An opportunity presented itself to work for an insurance company that used the Pega platform and I never looked back after going through that initial training program.

How has Pega shaped or impacted your career?
I graduated a year behind my classmates and considered myself a mediocre programmer. I juggled with coding in C#, VB, Java, and other languages which made me increasingly frustrated with working in IT. Once I had the opportunity to learn Pega, It was life-changing for me. I learned that by using the right tools,  I’m able to successfully drive business outcomes much more efficiently.

"The ever changing world of application design and development can be difficult to navigate, but becoming a Pega developer is the best thing that ever happened to me."

As a Pega developer, what accomplishment are you most proud of?
My greatest accomplishment working with the Pega platform is being able to simplify and automate most tasks which would normally be tedious and repetitive. Providing an automated solution and seeing the cost savings it generates to my clients makes me feel good about my work when I go home at night.

What message or advice would you give to anyone who is considering a career as a Pega Developer?
The ever changing world of application design and development can be difficult to navigate, but becoming a Pega developer is the best thing that ever happened to me. Go for it! You won’t be placed into situations where you are expected to code thousands of lines only to find countless bugs in the end. It’s an intuitive platform that I wish I had found sooner in my career.

"Once I had the opportunity to learn Pega, it was life-changing for me."
