Overview

The Common Data and Integration Designer, also known as the Designer case, is a case-based approach for extending your application's data model and integrating with external systems. Compatible with Pega Common application versions 24.2 and above, this component enables developers/architects to quickly and efficiently manage data entities and relationships within their implementation applications.

With the Designer case, users can create new entities and leverage class specialization, as well as inherit from existing entities. The tool also provides a clear view of the existing data model, making it easy to add new fields, modify views. Relationship management is streamlined, allowing users to create new associations between entities or extend current ones as needed.

Seamless integration with external sources is supported, enabling the synchronization and enrichment of data from external systems. The Designer case also includes capabilities for testing entities and their profiles as per business needs. Overall, this component simplifies data modeling and integration, accelerating application development within the Pega ecosystem while using the Common application.
