Clear button in signature capture not deattaching .png images
SA-18067
Summary
PROBLEM: Clear button in signature capture control is not deattaching .png images from current case attachments, which were attached earlier, when accept button was pressed.
SCENARIO: When a pattern is drawn in signature capture control and ACCEPT is pressed, then ACCEPT disappears and only CLEAR button is visible. At this point of time, Signature.png is attached to current case attachments. If end user again presses clear, then image will be cleared on UI, so that user can draw a fresh pattern, but previously drawn pattern is not getting deleted from current case attachments and it still remains.
So, if user repeatedly draws pattern, accepts it, clears it, then multiple Signature.png images are being attached as images to current case attachments.
ISSUE: Only the most recent signature pattern drawn and accepted must be attached to current case attachments but not all tries.
Error Messages
In current case attachments, multiple images are attached where only recent most signature image must be attached. So CSR has an ambiguity as to treat which image as correct signature.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Add a signature capture control in any custom section.
2. Save the section.
3. Run the case.
4. Draw pattern on signature capture control.
5. press ACCEPT on signature capture control.
6. press CLEAR on signature capture control.
7. Draw new pattern on signature capture control.
8. press ACCEPT on signature capture control.
9. Submit that section.
10. In current case attachments, two images are attached where only recent most signature.png base64 image must be attached.
Root Cause
This is the expected behavior of Pega 7.1.9 Signature Capture controls.
The behavior has been changed in Pega 7.2 release .
For user there's always the last signature shown as the preview.
So unless they are doing something with the attachment, user should not have problem. For them there's only one signature.
Resolution
Install or upgrade to the new release Pega 7.2.
