Access to SMA Tracer not working

SA-23181

Summary

When attempting to access System Management Application (SMA) environment as admin, use of Tracer prompts authentication. Upon presenting credentials, an HTTP 401 error is thrown.

Error Messages

HTTP Status 401

This request requires HTTP authentication.

Steps to Reproduce

1. User access SMA URL.
2. Log in with credentials (SMA Credentials).
3. Use Tracer function via Requestor Management. Clicks on Requestor, clicks on Tracer, is prompted for credentials again, tries to enter them but with no success.
4. See Gets HTTP Status 401 error, authentication failed.

Root Cause

When trying to trace a requestor from within SMA the prompt for authentication is NOT the SMA authentication. This is for PRPC authentication that is required to properly use tracer.

Resolution

When accessing SMA you maybe prompted for authentication when selecting a node to access. This is SMA security. Once in SMA, user tries to trace a Requestor you will be prompted for authentication again, this is PRPC authentication.

If the PRPC system is setup for secure access, system setting "http/SetSecureCookie" is true, the PRPC system can only be accessed using the HTTPS protocol.

Make sure that SMA node setup is using the proper HTTP protocol, http:// or https
