Adding Pulse message to an EPIC tab in Goal displaying error

SA-23422

Summary

When opening goals in Project management, the user can't enter a pulse message to an EPIC in the goal.

Error Messages

'This field may not be blank' error and the message entered is getting blank.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Project Management -> View -> Goals.
2. Go to EPIC tab.
3. Try to add a note to an EPIC.
4. Enter some text and click on share.
5. Observe that the text is cleared and an error message on screen.

Root Cause

This problem was reproduced in in-house system. When message id typed in the pulse gadget and on Share is clicked, the back end is trying to insert the message on ‘Pega Pulse’ defined in ‘Details’ tab of a Goal.

The average thrown because there is no text entered. There is a UI limitation in DOM when it is searching for first ‘pyDescription’ and submitting it. It is a known bug in PRPC prior versions. But it is fixed in PRPC 7.2.
But it can’t be back ported from PRPC 7.2 to PRPC 7.1.7 as the changes included the design of Pulse gadget.

Resolution

Remove the Pulse section from the details tab of the 'Goal' to enter notes for EPIC properly, and have it only in EPIC tab for adding notes.
