Authentication/RedirectGuests setting is creates issues

Summary



When user set Authentication/RedirectGuests as True or comment it out from prconfig.xml - SSO does not work.

However, when user set Authentication/RedirectGuests as False - SSO works, but https PRWebLDAP1 login page gets distorted.


Error Messages



SSO failure - Unauthenticated or not available.


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set Authentication/RedirectGuests as True or comment it out from prconfig.xml  and notice that SSO does not work.
  2. Set Authentication/RedirectGuests as False, and notice that SSO works but https PRWebLDAP1 login page gets distorted.


Root Cause



A third-party product issue: specifically F5 load balancer iRule configuration.

Resolution



Make the following change to the operating environment: 

cookie_path variable in one iRule was not defined once corrected, both SSO scenarios work irrespective of the 'Authentication/RedirectGuests' prconfig setting (should use default in both cases).
