Cannot save operator IDs with hyphen characters

SA-31090

Summary

In PRPC 6.2 SP2 administrators were able to save operator ID records with hyphens in the name (for example, "test-user1"). This is not working in Pega 7.2.1.

One cannot create new operator IDs with hyphen characters, or update existing records with hyphen characters.

Error Messages

Identifiers may only contain letters, numbers and the following characters: period (.), single quote ('), tilde (~), underscore (_), exclamation point (!), ampersand (&), hash sign (#) and a single at sign (@).

Steps to Reproduce

Attempt to create an operator ID record with a hyphen / dash ('-') in the name.

Root Cause

A software use or operation error. Hyphen characters are not allowed in operator ID names.

A defect in the PRPC engine allowed operator records to be created with hyphens in 6.2 SP2. This has since been corrected.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Convert all existing operator IDs with hyphen characters to new operator ID names without hyphens.
