Connect-Java Wizard Exception

Summary



While running the Connect-Java Wizard to consume the new service changes, an exception occurs. 

Error Messages



The Flow Action post-processing activity GenerateRules failed: java.lang.NullPointerException

Steps to Reproduce



1. There are service side changes in Connect-Java. To consume the newly created elements, run the Connect-Java Wizard.
2. In designerStudio Integration > Connectors > CreateOtherIntegration, select purpose as GenerateConnector Rules and metadatatype as Java Class. Select the Specific ruleset and version, base class and connector class.
4. In the next step, provide java class name.
5. In the next step, select Constructor for the java class.
6. In the next step, select a specific method for the service and click on Next button. Observe that an exception is generated.


Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules. Null check is not handled correctly for GenerateJPForConnect activity.

Resolution



This issue is resolved through the following Local-change:

Provide null check in step 4 of GenerateJPForConnect under the ruleset Pega-IntegrationEngine:07-10-01 to avoid NPE.
