Control needs to be clicked twice after refresh section action

SA-19656

Summary

After a user enters text into a text area control, which has a 'Refresh - This Section' action on change, the user needs to click controls in other sections twice to trigger the onclick behavior.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure a text area with a Refresh - This Section on change
  2. Configure another control in another section (such as a link, or a button)
  3. At run time, enter text in the text area
  4. Click the other control

Root Cause

This is caused by a misconfiguration in the application design.  The Refresh - This Section on change action does not trigger until the browser focus leaves the text area control (such as, when the user tries to click the other control).  When the refresh action triggers, it takes precedence and the action on the other control is not triggered until the second click.

Resolution

Since the OnChange section refresh was only used to ensure the values added to the text area were posted, changing the section refresh action to a post action resolved this issue.
