Summary

The user opens the scheduling dialog for a report that is currently scheduled, but does not edit the schedule, reviewing the details for example. The work object for the scheduled task is locked as soon as the dialog is opened. If the user dismisses the dialog by clicking the close icon (red X at upper right corner) for the window, the work object remains locked. This prevents executing the scheduled task.

This is part of the issue for which HFix-21117 was issued for Pega 7.1.6. The issue was triggered by the close icon and the Cancel button in the dialog. The issue with Cancel button was fixed (Cancel button releases the lock), but the red X was not.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open scheduling dialog of an existing scheduled report.
2. Dismiss the dialog by clicking the window's close icon (red X).

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules: The event caused by clicking the red 'X' is not always caught by the code, so the lock on the scheduled task work object is not released.

Resolution

Apply HFix-27362.
