To display foreign and local currency using currency control

SA-13599

Summary

There is a requirement to display foreign currency and local currency with Pega 7.1.7 currency control.

Root Cause

In the help content provided for currency control in the PDN the below is stated. (https://pdn.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v717/procomhelpmain.htm#concepts/concepts2/conceptscurrency.htm).

Pega 7.1 extends support for the currency control to display a different currency than the locale currency. This means a user in one country can view amounts that are designated in a foreign currency, using that currency's international conventions.

The requirement is to display currency, based on Locale and foreign, both together. This issue is due to a misinterpretation of the text in PDN.

Resolution

Pega supports the display of both - current locale currency symbol and foreign currency (just the symbol). If you place the locale as Local Currency then, in the location the user is using, the currency of that locale is displayed.
