EDI 834 file import is very slow

Summary
User is using Pega 7.1.7 with Healthcare Industry Foundation 7.12.
User has reported poor performance while loading of the Electronic data interchange (EDI) file.
Once the file listener picks-up the EDI file of approximately size 6 MB, the processing takes 2-3 hours to complete.
Investigation of debug logs suggests maximum time is being consumed while parsing of the delimited files.

Steps to Reproduce
- Import EDI 834 files using Pega provided OOTB activities in Healthcare Industry Foundation 7.12.
- Observe that the import process is very slow and takes 2-3 hours to complete.
Root Cause
This issue was determined to be a product enhancement request in Pega Healthcare Industry Foundation framework.
Resolution
An enhancement request, FDBK-18240, has been created for consideration by Pega Product Management.
