Error in Converting list view to Report Definition

Summary



The user upgraded from Pega 7.1.6 to Pega 7.2.1. As per business requirement, converted few list views into Report definitions manually.The report data is appearing properly, but they are getting a warning message on screen when they run the report definition.


Error Messages



Error on Screen:

Partial results shown. Some results cannot be included since data is not optimized. Contact technical support for assistance

Error in logs:

Union not applied because [InvalidReferenceException .ABC Unexposed properties cannot be selected for classes mapped to external tables

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a report definition(From 7.2, by default Include all descendant classes option is checked in the report definition Data Access tab).
  2. Join the descendent class to the report definition.
  3. Include the column from descendent class which is not optimized.


Root Cause



An issue in the custom application code or rules. User has included a property ABC to report definition from the descendent class which is not optimized. As Include all descendant classes option is checked by default in Data Access tab of report definition, warning message is being displayed on the screen.

Resolution



Perform the following local-change:

Un-check,
Include all descendant classes option in Data Access tab of report definition.
