Execution of Agent periodically within the specified Interval

SA-29319

Summary

The user requires Pega Agent to run every thirty seconds, for six hours, overnight. However, for the rest of the day the user does not want Pega Agent to run at all.

The user has accomplished this by setting a when condition at the beginning of the Agent Activity, to check the time, and then running based on this check. Can this functionality, for a periodic Agent within a specific interval, created without using a when rule.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a periodic agent to run for every 30 seconds.
  2. The agent should run only in between particular interval of time.
  3. As there is no such feature, write a when rule to check the time and run.

Root Cause

The request functionality is not available in the product and hence raised the feedback item for product management consideration. As the agent is set to run every 30 seconds, the user has created a WHEN rule to check whether the current time time is within the given interval or not.

Resolution

An enhancement request, , FDBK-17002 has been created for consideration by Pega Product Management.
