Export to PDF incorrect

Summary



When a report with columns containing text in Hungarian, Welsh, French, or other languages is exported to PDF, some characters are not rendered correctly in the PDF. However, they appear fine in the application.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Run a report definition, which includes data with special characters.
  2. Export that report to PDF.

Root Cause



When exporting to PDF, the font and its directory, which contains the correct special characters must be passed as a parameter to the pyPDFSettings activity. These parameters where missing in this case.

Resolution



Set pyPDFFontsDirectory and pyPDFEmbedFont parameters in the pyPDFSettings activity with appropriate font directory and font name. Refer the following troubleshooting video for more detailed steps: https://pdn.pega.com/pegatube/support-guide-troubleshooting-cyrillic-script-not-appearing-generated-pdf
