Field level Audit recording Boolean field changes on case Save

SA-87654

Summary

On opening a case the first time and saving it without modifying any checkbox, Pega defaults the corresponding properties with a false value. Hence, the Field level Audit creates a change entry for the corresponding properties associated to the user.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a boolean property.
  2. Add the property to a section with no default value.
  3. Enter the section for the first time.
  4. Click the Save button. The out-of-the-box Audit tab inserts an Audit entry stating: Added OffsetProductEvidence value 'false'.

Root Cause

This behavior is as per Pega product design.

Resolution

Here's the explanation for the reported behavior:

Checkboxes are Boolean. That is, when the checkbox is not selected (for example, Evidence of off-set product(s)), the value of this parameter is set to false. Therefore, the 'Added OffsetProductEvidence value 'false'' entry is registered in the Audit tab.
