Flow does not work with decision shape as first and last shape

Summary
Flow does not work in an offline mode when the decision shape is the first shape (after the START shape) and the last shape (before the END shape) in a flow.
Error Messages

Steps to Reproduce
- Configure the application as offline enabled
- Create a section with a button
- OnClick of button add Create Work action
- Log in to the user portal
- Change the mode of user device to airplane
- Click the button. It should create a case as Create Work action is supported in offline mode, however, this does not work
Root Cause
This issue was determined to be a product enhancement request.
Resolution
Perform the following local-change:
Include a dummy assignment after the decision shape and bypass the assignment using JavaScript:

function preFlowAction$<Dummy Flowaction Name>(){
pega.process.engine.finishAssignment(null,function(){},function(){});
}
