FlowProblemMissingStageFlow Error occurs on submitting Flows

Summary



Developer has a requirement to execute multiple flows in a single runtime. For this requirement, developer calls an out-of-the-box (OOTB) ResumeFlow activity from custom utility activity during flow completion.

However FlowProblemMissingStageFlow <Flow Name> error on the screen is displayed while clicking submit button after completing all the details in the flow.

Steps to Reproduce



1. Create a flow.
2. Include a customized utility and call OOTB ResumeFlow activity in the customized utility at the end of flow.
3. Execute the flow. On click of submit, the error message FlowProblemMissingStageFlow <Flowname> is displayed on the screen.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code/rules. This issue is because the pxStageFlowID is not being set on the pxFlow of the custom flow which is being called (Flow from activity / Flow in an SLA/ Flow in a Modal Dialog).

Resolution



This issue is resolved in Pega 7.1.8 release.
