Footer position change

SA-16201

Summary

How to change Footer position in "Header Footer Left" screen layout?

Currently Footer is always at the bottom of the screen (no matter of the scrolling) and we want to change it so its at the bottom of the page - so its moves when we scroll.

How can we change that?

Question about Screen Layouts:
I've recently had several projects that did not want a fixed header/footer in the design. Rather they wanted the header to scroll with the page content and use a "sticky" footer for screens with very little content.

Do we have any provisions for doing this easily with screen layouts? I have had to use a Header screen layout, hide the header panel with CSS, and then place all of the header/main/footer content into the center panel so it scrolls as one unit. This works but it is tricky to set up, introduces some cross-device considerations, and requires all harnesses to be set up with the same header and footer content.

Just wondering if there was an easier way to accomplish this!

  • Answer:

That is the best way to do it right now given the current set of screen layouts.

We have had to do the same thing with several mobile apps given the header is usually contextual to the main content.

We will be providing additional layouts in a future release specifically to address this gap.
