Generated PDF document from a Report is not aligned properly

SA-38397

Summary

User reported that the generated PDF document from a Report is not aligned properly with Pega 7.2.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to Reports tab in the portal.
  2. Click on a report.
  3. Once report is generated click on the action tab and select ‘Export to PDF’ option.
  4. Check the generated PDF.

Root Cause

A third-party product issue while generating the PDF. The markup generated from Pega looks fine.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

When user enables ignore application skin for reports in the data access tab then pyReport_ExportToPdfStyles styles are considered, and PDF will be rendered with styles available in pyReport_ExportToPdfStyles css file.

Hence the only option to have this is include word-wrap :break-word; if complete data is required and wrapped or remove it then for some columns data might get truncated.
