HCIF 7.21.1 install fails with duplicate value for index error

SA-27920

Summary

The Healthcare Industry Foundation (HCIF) 7.21.1 install fails in Pega 7.2.1 when following the installation guide.

Error Messages

SQLState 23505, Error code -803: com.ibm.websphere.ce.cm.DuplicateKeyException: One or more values in the INSERT statement, UPDATE statement, or foreign key update caused by a DELETE statement are not valid because the primary key, unique constraint or unique index identified by "1" constrains table "DATA.PR_OTHER" from having duplicate values for the index key.. SQLCODE=-803, SQLSTATE=23505, DRIVER=3.64.106

Steps to Reproduce

Import the HCIF archive as per the steps in the installation manual.

Root Cause

The installation was not being performed onto a clean system.

Content from a previous instance of HCIF was present.

Data instances from the previous installation of HCIF had the same primary key as the current installation, causing the unique index violation.

Resolution

The steps provided in the HCIF upgrade manual should be used instead of the installation manual when installing onto a system that has a previous version of HCIF already installed.
